Capacity Building on Health Issues
UET has organized 3 capacity building programmes for the communities and Govt. health service providers. One training has been organized in Galsi-II Block and other two trainings have been organized in Purba Bardhaman. The purpose of these trainings was to provide basic understanding on common diseases, hygiene practice and its management. 100 participants including ASHA and Anganwadi workers along with community women. Both the sessions were quite effective as women from the communities have expressed their positive thought to practice improved hygiene at their home.
Training on Malnutrition Management
Malnutrition is an imbalance in micro and macronutrients – either a deficit or surplus of them – which impedes the body's capability of growing and staying healthy. As mentioned in previous articles, malnutrition can be caused by several different factors, which include but are not limited to disease, lack of access to safe drinking water, eating disorders, mental health illnesses, and even climate change. With such a wide range of causes, it is expected that the effects of malnutrition are just as varied.
